The Benefice of Heathfield has recently been created to incorporate the Parishes of Heathfield St.Richard and All Saints' Old Heathfield (with St.George's, Broad Oak). This important development opens up many exciting opportunities for the future. The Benefice has recently been in interregnum and our new vicar is getting to grips with creating a ‘family-feeling’ for the united benefice community.
St.Richard's has a reputation for being inclusive and welcoming. We worship in the mainstream Anglican tradition, however the current members cover a wide range of churchmanship.
Consecrated in July 1912, with the south aisle added in 1961, it is an attractive, mainly brick building with a tiled roof.
We have a substantial car park and easy wheelchair access. The entrance porch leads into a bright, well-ordered interior seating up to 300. We have a hearing loop and toilet with wheelchair access and baby changing facilities.
The church is situated on the edge of the town centre, near local shops.
We are members of Churches Together in Heathfield and District
