The Benefice of Heathfield has recently been created to incorporate the Parishes of Heathfield St.Richard and All Saints' Old Heathfield (with St.George's, Broad Oak). This important development opens up many exciting opportunities for the future. The Benefice is currently in interregnum although a new vicar has recently been appointed. We are looking forward to him taking up the appointment in August or September this year. (See ‘News’ page for details.)
St.Richard's has a reputation for being inclusive and welcoming. We worship in the mainstream Anglican tradition, however the current members cover a wide range of churchmanship.
Consecrated in July 1912, with the south aisle added in 1961, it is an attractive, mainly brick building with a tiled roof.
We have a substantial car park and easy wheelchair access. The entrance porch leads into a bright, well-ordered interior seating up to 300. We have a hearing loop and toilet with wheelchair access and baby changing facilities.
The church is situated on the edge of the town centre, near local shops.
We are members of Churches Together in Heathfield and District
